Technically, Poland has the ability to close part of the skies over Ukraine with its air defense systems, but political approval is required will for such a decision. This was stated by the spokesman of the Air Force of Ukraine, Ilya Evlash, quoted by the UNIAN agency.
This is how he commented on the frequent overflight of Russian missiles over Poland or near the Polish border. In the last such incident, Warsaw raised its fighters in the air.
„It was said that Poland could close the sky at least in the western regions of our country, which would allow us to use the launchers located there in other directions. But for that, political will is required”, said Ilya Evlash.
In his words, this will facilitate Kiev's efforts to defend itself against Russian missile attacks. In recent weeks, the Russian aggressor has significantly increased its attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure – against the background of the shortage of ammunition and weapons in the Armed Forces.
