A national assembly-pilgrimage will be held today in the historical area of Oborishte above Panagyurishte on the occasion of the 148th anniversary of the April Uprising, BNT reported .
This is also the final part of the celebrations dedicated to the April epic.
According to the tradition of this day, hundreds of Bulgarians from the country gather to pay their respects in front of the Apriltsi monument in the area where the first Bulgarian deputies made the fateful decision to rise up against the Ottoman Empire.
The ceremonial speech will be delivered by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Rositsa Kirova.
